Which PDF-to-MusicXML converter fits which kind of PDF: what each one costs, what it exports, and how much cleanup to expect from the result.
Sibelius exports work now. MuseScore, Dorico and Finale exports work for simple scores: up to four staves per system, on ordinary five-line staves. The check covers the whole PDF, so a score with one larger system is not converted. Scans, photos and handwritten pages are not supported. You don’t need to know the source: the compatibility check will tell you. The compatibility check tells you whether we can convert your PDF; it doesn’t guarantee a correct conversion.
Not yet. On a computer you can drop a whole folder and every PDF gets a compatibility check, but you upload and convert one score at a time.
You can upload and check it. Your first conversion must fit within your initial 10 pages, so choose a continuous range of up to 10 score pages. The survey reward is available only after you’ve received at least one result and your next conversion exceeds your balance.
If a page can’t be fully converted, that page won’t cost any credits—even if a partial result is available. If the whole conversion fails, no credits are deducted. You can try again.
MusicXML is editable notation, not a copy of the original page layout. Check the result in your notation software. When some content cannot be recovered, we’ll explain what needs attention rather than promise a perfect copy.
Open the MusicXML in your notation app and compare it with your PDF. Some notes or markings may need correction. Review your editable score before relying on the result.
After receiving a result, select a range that exceeds your remaining pages. Complete the survey to add 10 pages to your balance, once per account. Negative feedback and no feature selections still qualify. The allowance does not reset each month.
Your files are not public or sold. The detailed Terms and Privacy Policy explain conversion, service providers, and private file handling. Upload only scores you have permission to share for those purposes.
